Product Design Intern — UX/UI and Accessibility for a Voice-AI Product

About the role

An interview is a stressful moment. TheInterviews.ai puts candidates in front of an AI interviewer on the web, on phones, and on laptops, and shows recruiters scores they must trust. You will design for both sides: calm, accessible candidate flows and clear, decision-ready recruiter views. You will work directly with the founder and engineers, and your designs will ship.

What you will do

• Design and iterate flows in Figma: onboarding, interview room states, feedback reports, recruiter dashboards, and marketing pages.
• Maintain and extend the design system: tokens, components, and states that map cleanly to Tailwind CSS.
• Run accessibility reviews (keyboard, screen reader, contrast, mobile orientation) and pair with engineers on fixes.
• Use PostHog session insights and short user conversations to find friction, then propose measurable changes.
• Prepare crisp handoff specs so engineers can build without guessing.

Details

• Internship, approximately 12 weeks, starting October/November 2026. 20–40 hours per week, flexible, with a daily Pacific-time overlap window.
• Remote within the United States. Optional in-person days in San Diego.
• Students and recent graduates welcome, including F-1 CPT/OPT. Academic credit supported where your program allows.

What we look for

• A portfolio that shows your process: problem, constraints, iterations, and outcome, not just final screens.
• Strong visual and interaction fundamentals; you care about typography, spacing, hierarchy, and motion.
• You can talk about accessibility as a design input, not an afterthought.
• Comfortable getting feedback weekly and shipping small improvements continuously.

Nice to have

• Basic HTML/CSS or React, prototyping with real data, voice or conversational UI experience, or design-system work.
