Privacy Policy

• Account & profile — name, email, phone (optional), password (hashed), Google sign-in identifier, industry/role, and profile details you provide.
• Interview content — mock-interview transcripts, your answers, generated feedback and scores, and resumes/job descriptions you upload.
• Audio & video recordings — where you consent, recordings of interview sessions and their transcripts.
• Biometric / liveness data — for identity-verified interviews we perform a camera-based liveness check and a face-match against a face template you enroll. This is biometric information under BIPA and is only collected with your separate, explicit consent (see §6).
• Billing — subscription and payment records. Card details are processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
• Usage & device — log data, analytics events, and cookies used to run and improve the service.

To provide and personalise interviews and feedback; to verify identity and detect fraud/gaming; to manage your account and billing; to secure the platform; to comply with legal obligations; and, where permitted, to analyse and improve the service. Interview content is processed by our AI sub-processors to generate questions and feedback — it is not used to train third-party foundation models.

In Lifelike AI interviews your spoken answers are transcribed to text. Beyond helping the AI interviewer respond to you, the transcript is used to protect interview integrity — for example, to detect impersonation or outside assistance. We store only the text transcript: no audio recording is retained for this purpose and no voiceprint is created. This applies to Lifelike interviews only; practice interviews are not transcribed for integrity review. Integrity transcription is consent-gated — you agree before the interview starts — and is performed by our own systems; no third-party transcription provider receives this audio. The integrity transcript is deleted within 30 days of the interview (see §5).

We rely on: performance of a contract (delivering the interview service); consent (recordings, integrity transcription, biometric verification, marketing); legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, product improvement); and legal obligation (financial and audit records). You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.

We share data only with service providers acting on our behalf under contract. Our current processors are: AWS (hosting and storage, document text extraction, and identity/liveness verification), OpenAI and Anthropic (AI question generation, scoring, and feedback), Deepgram (speech-to-text and synthesised speech), ElevenLabs (synthesised speech), LiveKit (real-time audio and video transport), Simli and Spatius (interviewer avatar), Stripe (billing and payments), Google (sign-in), PostHog (product analytics), Cloudflare (bot and abuse challenge at signup), and our transactional email provider (account and service emails). We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. A complete sub-processor list stating the purpose and legal basis for each is being published; contact us if you need it before then.

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Interview recordings are kept for your plan's retention window (currently 1 day on free plans, 7 days on paid plans, 30 days for B2B), then automatically deleted. Interview transcripts, feedback, and resumes are retained while your account is active and erased when you delete your account. Lifelike integrity data — the identity face template, flagged evidence images, and the integrity transcript (§2a) — is deleted within 30 days of the interview. Operational PII logs are purged after ~30 days, audit logs are retained for 365 days for security/compliance, and financial records are kept for the period required by law. You can request deletion at any time (see §7); on deletion we erase interview content, recordings, resumes, profile, and biometric templates, and anonymise records we are legally required to retain.

Liveness and face-match verification are optional and require your explicit, separate consent before any biometric data is captured. Your face template is used solely to confirm it is you across your interviews, is never sold or disclosed for profit, and is deleted when you delete your account or when the purpose is fulfilled. Practice interviews do not use biometric verification.

Depending on your region you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your data, to object, and to opt out of any sale/sharing (we do neither). Delete your account and personal data at any time from account settings, or contact us. We respond within the timeframes required by GDPR/CCPA and do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

We use essential and analytics cookies. Data in transit is encrypted with TLS and data at rest is encrypted. We may process data in the United States and other countries under appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses) for users in the EEA/UK.
